“Gardening is not outcome-oriented.

A successful harvest is not the end of a gardener’s existence,

but only a phase of it. As any gardener knows, the vitality of a garden

does not end with a harvest. It simply takes another form.

Gardens do not ‘die’ in the winter but quietly prepare for another season.”

We all get a lot of emails every day.

Newsletters, business related emails, friends – sometimes, and a lot of others….

Of course I read my favorites and everyday I learn something new and

try to share with my family and you.

And this quote is from the Tim Ferris newsletter.

I have been following him since he published his first book – The 4-Hour Work Week.

Have you read it? If not then it’s time to read that life-changing book.

Friday is the day when you look forward to the weekend.

And for years and years I always cook something special on Saturday night.

And summer is almost over and this quote reminded me about it.

But because of the weather my little garden is growing like never before.

My basil is back! I thought it was over – I cut all the leaves and

made a pesto sauce a couple of weeks ago.

But I looked today…..and I have another harvest to make my pesto!

This is my most favorite sauce on Earth.

You can put it on anything – pasta, sandwiches and burgers –

if you eat those. Even eggs – it’s absolutely delicious.

And the aroma is just so fresh and invigorating.

But besides the pesto, Basil is well known around the world as a medicinal remedy.

Here are 13 benefits of consuming Basil:

  • Energy! – Basil will pick you up when it is dark outside and rainy – smell it and add one or two leaves on top of your food – and you are good to go!
  • Basil helps to digest your food. It stimulates your production of digestive enzymes and helps to move food through your small intestines.
  • Add Basil extract or oil to your bath to calm your nerves after a stressful day.

Basil can grow all year around with just enough light and water and love.

Try it and see how it will enhance your diet and life.

Thank you for reading. Have a great weekend.
